Our Washington Ave. plant had a surprise visit from Prescott's new Mayor Kuykendall on New Year's Eve. Prescott Enews got the whole story, and you can read it here, plus watch the video posted below. The mayor tells our story well, and we sure appreciate him stopping by, and special kudos to Lynne LaMaster for catching this scoop!

Yavapai College has been collecting oral histories from individuals with a long association with the college. Kudos to Mollie Gugler, College Archivist and Brent Roberts, Honors Program Coordinator, who spearheaded this project. Brad Newman's remembrances were recently added to the collection. You can view Brad's video here (scroll down the page to find it, and enjoy the other histories recorded there, too!)

2009 marked 25 years of seasonal guiding on the Colorado River in Grand Canyon and Glen Canyon, Brad's other passion. He is currently engaged by Colorado River Discovery to do the float trips down the Colorado from Glen Canyon Dam to Lee's Ferry: fifteen river miles of benign, absolutely gorgeous canyon country. Check out this video of Brad singing as he floats the river!

As Brad says, "We are truly in the palm of God's hand as we take a day to float one of the natural wonders of the world." Check 'em out at www.raftthecanyon.com. (Be sure to ask for Brad as your guide as his first responsibility is to his YEI! family... he is up on the river only a few days every few weeks.) Take note: a full day rowing trip is available March - May and September - October!
